According to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, Akufo-Addo won over 51 per cent of votes while his main contender John Mahama polled over 47 per cent.
On the night of the declaration the EC chairperson while addressing the media, other officials present at the Accra International Conference Centre and Ghanaians who were watching her on Tv and those who were listening to her on their radio, greeted ‘good afternoon’ instead of ‘good evening’ and this sparked controversies that she prerecorded the video and played it to Ghanaians.
Many Ghanaians who said that were the fanatics of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and even some of the top gurus of the party probably as a way to say the EC’s results is inaccurate also said same.
Israel has shared a photo from the auditorium to debunked such clams by the NDC on his Facebook page with his name embossed on it.
The picture shows the EC chairperson seated with the media people busily capturing the scene while others were also seated listening to her as she speaks.
Sharing the picture, Israel wrote:
The declaration of the winner of the 2020 presidential election by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, was covered live by many journalists and witnessed by several international observers. Don’t believe that lie.#ElectionHQ
Israel again hit hard at the NDC for claiming the media has caused them a harm in their loss in the just ended 2020 election and revealed that the same media house projected previous elections even the ones John Mahama won as a president.
Isn’t it strange that the same Multimedia is NDC and also NPP. We’re the same media house that accurately projected the election outcome in 2008, 2012, 2016 and now 2020.#ElectionHQ
