Eleven (11)-year-old Isaiah Adu Gyimah who is an expert in upholstery has emphasized that his dream and ambition is to manufacture his own Ghana-made car at the age of twenty-five (25).
Isaiah Adu Gyimah who is in Primary 6 at the Springs of Life International School has become a professional in car interior decoration at PRIMAG Auto works at Kumasi Krofrom.
Isaiah Adu Gyimah’s handiwork which has earned him the admiration of residents who are marveled at his finishing and wonder how and where he learnt the art of becoming one of the most sought after in the garden city.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo, he explained that “I learned upholstery at the age of 9 years when I was in class 4”
According to him, “The shop (PRIMAG AUTO WORKS) is my father’s company so he taught me how to become a professional and an expert in upholstery”.
Answering questions on how he combines academic work with his newfound love which gives him extra income and takes the burden off his parents he said “When I close from school, I will eat and do my homework then I will go to where my father is working to learn how to make the upholstery. I take up some of the contracts and perfectly execute them at a fee”
Isaiah Adu Gyimah added that “I want to succeed my father when he is no more or weak because I don’t want his business to collapse”.
“I will continue to further my education and I will never take my education for granted but after school, I will never bother the state or the government to give me work to do”.
“Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka is my role model and my mentor. I feel happy anytime I watch him and I want to be like him. I want to make my own Ghana-made car like how Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo Kantanka is doing” He added.
